Call about access before making a trip
The FAQ lists 601-362-5321 for the health center’s filter-access route for eligible residents. It does not provide enough detail to determine an individual household’s eligibility or confirm supplies. Ask about current intake, required documents, the pickup location and whether an appointment is needed.
If a filter is offered, ask which model and cartridge are supplied and how replacement cartridges are obtained. Record the answer with the manufacturer’s instructions rather than assuming every cartridge has the same purpose.
Send the water question to the utility
JXN Water lists 601-500-5200 for water-quality concerns and questions about service-line material. Its lead education page explains that plumbing materials can affect lead at the tap and distinguishes material identification from other water information.

The broad wording in the FAQ should be read alongside the more specific lead guidance. The latter says a filter used to reduce lead must be certified for that purpose and used and maintained according to its directions. We have not verified the filter supplied by the program.
