Rocky River’s Building Department places residential applications, trade forms, zoning records, contractor registration, and inspection resources in one maintained library. Use that hub as a menu, not as evidence that one application covers the whole project.

Translate the work into permit families

On the City’s Building Department page, identify the forms that match the physical scope. Create separate rows for building, zoning, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and any other City-labeled permit family. Each row should record:

  • exact work included and excluded;
  • current form title and access date;
  • applicant and responsible registered contractor if required;
  • application and permit numbers;
  • plan or supporting-document revision;
  • corrections and written approval;
  • inspections and final status; and
  • dependency on another row.

If the department says no separate record is needed, retain that dated answer for the submitted scope rather than leaving the row blank.

Registration is a party record

A contractor registration can show that the City accepted an administrative filing for a stated period. It does not establish permit issuance, professional quality, insurance coverage beyond the record, or an inspection result. Link the registration identifier to the relevant permit row without relabeling it as the permit.

Close each family separately

Mixed projects often reach different statuses at different times. Use a compact dashboard:

The article uses one source URL under a documented exception because the maintained City page itself is the authoritative library containing the independently linked resources. Duplicating that URL would not create independent evidence.

Local Service Ledger reviewed the live library on August 27, 2026. We did not classify a project, verify a contractor, submit a form, inspect work, or obtain a final record.
