Before transporting household tires in Orange County, identify both the tire type and the receiving facility. The County’s posted schedule accepts up to eight passenger tires at the Landfill and Porter Transfer Station; McLeod Road is marked as not accepting them. Facility schedule
Use the small-load branch carefully
| Load or service situation | What to check |
|---|---|
| Up to eight passenger tires | Landfill or Porter acceptance and the small passenger-tire category |
| Light-truck, other or mixed tires | The different waste-tire category; do not apply the passenger-tire rate |
| County curbside customer in unincorporated Orange | The separate option for up to four passenger tires with large-item pickup |
| Bulk load | County confirmation of transport and facility requirements before moving it |
The curbside option is not a countywide promise to every municipal household. Curbside eligibility
A unit price is not always the total
The schedule effective October 1, 2025 lists $2 per passenger tire for the small-load category and a $9 minimum charge. Ask the facility what total applies to your actual load; do not multiply a small tire count and assume the result is the entire charge. Rates and minimum
Record the count and sidewall type before calling. Also say whether the load includes anything else, because the posted table treats mixed loads differently.
Confirm before changing scale
The County’s pages use different wording around the 25-tire transport threshold. This guide does not resolve that inconsistency and does not cover a bulk-hauling decision. Call the Solid Waste Hotline at 407-836-6601 with the exact count and load description before arranging a larger move.
No landfill visit, scale ticket or current individual charge was observed. The comparison is intended to prevent choosing the wrong facility or applying the wrong category.

Local Service Ledger checked the cited institutional records on September 7, 2026 and assembled the reader worksheet above. Match tire counts, resident status and facility rules while excluding commercial loads. No interview, site visit or individual service transaction was conducted.
