Seminole County now has two clocks for a gasoline drop-off. The Household Hazardous Waste Tunnel can accept gasoline beyond the narrower return period, but a resident who wants the gas can back must arrive between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
The County also says technicians—not residents—must pour automotive fluids. Confirm the current route before travel and let the technician control the handoff.

Seminole County’s June HHW update says that, effective June 1, 2026, all automotive fluids must be poured by a technician. It says gasoline arriving outside 10 a.m.–2 p.m. can be accepted, but the container will not be returned.
Do not treat the facility’s broader operating hours as the can-return hours.
Use one row per material
The current Residential Collection Guidelines list different household limits:

These are separate source rows. A household with gasoline and oil should not add them together and call the result one 30-gallon automotive-fluid allowance. Confirm each exact material and quantity, especially when the product is unlisted or the total is unusual.
Decide whether the can must return
Write the decision on the card before choosing an arrival time:
- Can must be returned: confirm current operations and plan arrival during the County’s 10 a.m.–2 p.m., Monday–Saturday return window.
- Can can be surrendered: confirm that the County will accept the gasoline and container at the planned time; record the surrendered-container outcome.
An arrival during the return window still does not promise acceptance or return. Staff must evaluate the actual material, quantity, and container.
Do not turn the checklist into handling advice
The County says chemicals outside original containers should be labeled, transport should be safe, leaks should be prevented, and residents should seek technician assistance. This article does not add instructions for opening, pouring, transferring, mixing, diluting, smelling, or repackaging a substance.
If a container is leaking, unstable, swollen, badly corroded, producing fumes, involved in a fire, or holds unknown material that may create an immediate hazard, stop the ordinary travel plan and use the appropriate emergency or County direction. Do not manipulate the container to complete a checklist.
Household hazardous waste also does not belong at the curb or in ordinary garbage/recycling carts. The County’s listed route is the Central Transfer Station HHW facility, subject to current acceptance rules.
Separate residential and business waste
The County describes this no-charge HHW route for Seminole County residents. It does not authorize a contractor, shop, landlord operation, or other business to relabel commercial material as household waste.
Record who generated the material and in what context. If it arose from business activity or a contractor’s work, ask the County for the correct commercial route before loading it.
