Think in names, not just a street address
The linked monitoring form explains that notifications use newly indexed grantor or grantee names. It offers person and company entries and illustrates why different name variations may need attention. Monitoring form
Before registering, compare the name you intend to monitor with the names actually used in your property records. A street address is not the matching field described by this service. Do not assume one spelling covers every variation or that a shared name means a document concerns your property.
The form also directs users to check for a verification email, including spam folders. We did not register a name or test delivery.
Use an alert to retrieve the document
The Clerk’s overview says an alert provides identifying information such as the instrument number and official-records book and page. Preserve those identifiers and inspect the underlying record. A useful personal note contains the alert date, document identifier, name matched and the action you took to clarify it. Keep the original alert rather than relying on a rewritten summary.
Read the notification privacy terms
The linked form’s notice says notification email addresses may be public records unless an exemption applies. Review that notice before supplying contact information; “free” does not mean private or guaranteed protection.
