For a Gulfport residential addition, alteration, or repair, begin with the City’s baseline application, property survey, and plan set. Add owner-builder, structural, truss, product, energy, or flood documents only when the project condition calls for them.
Confirm the current checklist first
The City’s resident form library currently presents 2026 permit forms. Record the checklist title, revision or access date, and City jurisdiction confirmation before assembling documents. That makes it possible to detect a form update later.
The permit-type requirements page groups residential additions, alterations, and repairs. Create three baseline rows:
- application with the exact owner, property, applicant, contractor, and scope;
- current survey or site evidence showing where work occurs; and
- submitted plan set with sheet list, signer, revision, and file name.
Add conditional packages deliberately
| Condition | Separate package to index |
|---|---|
| Owner acts as builder | City disclosure and identity record |
| Structural design is involved | Signed structural drawings and calculations |
| Trusses are used | Truss package and acceptance status |
| Exterior openings or regulated products change | Product approvals tied to drawing locations |
| Energy-regulated work changes | Project energy documents |
| Floodplain or flood-zone facts trigger review | City-requested flood package and written disposition |
Do not copy a document into every folder. Reference one controlled file from the records it supports, with revision and approval status.
Preserve the signature format
Gulfport’s page warns that printing a digitally signed document can remove what the City needs to validate the signature. Retain the original signed electronic file, a checksum or immutable archive if available, the upload receipt, and the accepted revision. A paper print can be a jobsite convenience without becoming the official submitted original.
Finish the file with correction cycles, issued permits, approved plans, inspection results by trade, separate permit closures, and the City’s final completion record. An intake marked complete is not an issued permit, and a final building inspection may not close a separate trade record.
Local Service Ledger reviewed the City’s current resident library and submittal page on August 27, 2026. We did not review a property, plan, digital signature, flood condition, or permit decision.
