DEMONSTRATION CONTENT — NOT FOR PUBLICATION

There is no Tampa exterior-painting price range on this page. A credible report cannot calculate one until real observations have been collected, normalized, and reviewed. This demonstration defines how that work should be done.

The question a real report would answer

A future report would help a homeowner understand which documented scope differences explain the observed spread among recent, comparable Tampa Bay estimates. It would not reduce different houses and different scopes to a single unsupported “average.”

Proposed collection fields

For every voluntarily supplied or publicly documented estimate, the research record would retain the quote month, broad geography, building type, approximate paintable scope, story count, documented preparation, coating system, access constraints, exclusions, and the quoted amount. Addresses, customer identities, and other private information would not be published.

The report would state the collection dates and number of usable observations. It would show ranges only for groups that remain meaningful after the scope variables are reviewed. If there are too few comparable observations, the editorial decision would be to withhold the range.

Context is not a quote sample

The Bureau of Labor Statistics CPI data might help explain how observations from different periods were adjusted, but only after the precise series and calculation are documented. The Census Building Permits Survey may provide geographic context; it does not report exterior-painting quotes and must never be presented as if it does.

Limitations the report must display

  • Collected estimates are not completed invoices unless identified as such.
  • A voluntary sample may not represent every contractor or property type.
  • Preparation, repair, access, and product choices can make superficially similar projects incomparable.
  • A market range is not an estimate for a reader’s house.

The publishable article would include a downloadable or auditable methodology summary, the actual observation window, and an approval record. Until then, this page remains a noindex demonstration.
