A Warren County household should not rule itself out of weatherization assistance using the dollar example in WWISCAA’s undated stimulus-era FAQ. That page still gives $44,100 for a family of four. Mississippi’s current Weatherization Assistance Program page lists $66,000 for four people at 200% of the poverty guideline. Older agency FAQ · State screening table
The difference is $21,900, calculated by LSL as $66,000 minus $44,100. It is a difference between displayed income screens—not a grant, a benefit amount or a determination that a household qualifies.
Start with the Warren County route
The Mississippi Association of Community Action Agencies member directory lists Warren among WWISCAA’s served counties and weatherization among its programs. WWISCAA’s weatherization page gives 662-344-9997 for its program.
Ask for Warren County screening and the correct appointment location before traveling. The agency’s Greenville mailing or headquarters address is not evidence of where your appointment will occur.
There is another reason to read carefully: the weatherization page contains a sentence explicitly describing Emergency Food and Shelter service areas. LSL did not treat that different program’s wording as a weatherization exclusion for Warren County.
What the current application route establishes
MDHS directs applicants to the Community Services selection through Access MS, followed by an appointment with the local community action agency to complete the application. Its instructions call for evidence of residence, income and household membership; renters should ask the agency about participation. State application instructions
Use the state page’s application link rather than sending personal documents to a publication or an unverified contact. No application was submitted for this article.
A submitted pre-application is a request for screening, not an approved work order. Weatherization assessment and selected energy measures are also different from the City’s redevelopment tax-abatement program, which concerns qualifying investment and municipal taxes.
A focused screening inquiry
Use these questions to resolve the missing case-specific information:
- Which current income guideline and income period will you use for my household?
- What documents do you need, and through which verified channel?
- Is an owner-consent or landlord contribution requirement applicable if I rent?
- After screening, what home assessment, waiting list or funding condition remains before work can be scheduled?
Do not substitute the old FAQ’s stimulus funding or average-savings statements for a current offer. The fact that a page remains online does not establish today’s funding, a contractor appointment or a promised reduction in your bill.
LSL compared the state table, agency program page, historical FAQ and association directory on September 23, 2026. The contribution is the stale-screen comparison and local inquiry route. No household income was assessed, agency contacted, inspection observed or assistance secured.
