An after-hours utility problem should not wait in a billing inquiry. Flowood lists 601-932-5400 for after-hours utility emergencies and a separate billing office. For streets, streetlights and drainage it publishes another contact. City service contacts

Contacts are from the Services page; preparation prompts are LSL’s additions. Describe an observation before assigning its cause. For example, standing water near a street does not by itself establish whether the issue is public drainage or proposed private-site work.

The Forms and Applications index separates floodplain, right-of-way, residential, site-development and utility forms. Use the relevant office to determine which applies. This review checked the index, not every linked form; a listed form is not a finding that your project needs, or has received, that approval.

Does the Friday large-item service cover this load?

Flowood’s service page says Waste Management will not pick up items over 75 pounds and describes free City large-item pickup on Fridays. It also specifies four-foot bundled limbs, bagged grass and no mattresses. Pickup instructions

Apply those statements separately:

  • A mattress: The explicit exclusion controls. Do not treat Friday as an exception.
  • Branches or grass: Prepare to the stated limb/bag instructions; a loose mixed load is a different request.
  • Another heavy item: Identify the material and dimensions when confirming City pickup. The 75-pound contractor limit does not state the City’s equipment capacity.
  • Contractor-generated or mixed project debris: Ask whether the actual load is accepted and who must remove it. The page does not establish blanket acceptance of contractor waste.

Before a cleanup job, write the removal responsibility into the scope you agree with the contractor. Include who will confirm disposal, what material is covered and whether hauling is included; “leave it for Friday” is not a confirmed disposal arrangement.

If the first office redirects you

Carry forward the address, problem description and any request reference. Ask whether the receiving office needs a separate application or inspection, rather than assuming that a telephone referral completes it. For pickup, obtain the answer about the actual material before putting an uncertain load out.

LSL checked both City pages on September 19, 2026. This guide combines service contacts with a material screen; it does not report a tested emergency response, permit decision or completed collection.
