DOTD’s October 1, 2026 update says construction continues on the North 18th Street and Forsythe Avenue project. The City’s copy still stops at June 1; four later updates appear in the state record. Twelve entries in the state record
The DOTD record contains the October 31, 2025 original and eleven continuation updates. The City copy reproduces the first eight entries:

From the scheduled November 10, 2025 start to October 1, 2026 is 325 elapsed calendar days. The earlier September 2 endpoint was 296 days; the new dated entry adds 29 calendar days. Neither figure is days worked. Weather, sequencing, closures, weekends, suspensions, and other conditions are not resolved by subtracting dates.
Do not turn a forecast into a finish
The November 3 continuation wording predates the scheduled November 10 start. Neither statement establishes the actual first workday; the calculation therefore uses the announced date, not an observed start.
The original late-spring target records an expectation at that time. A later “construction continues” entry supersedes any assumption that the road was finished merely because the forecast window arrived. Final completion requires a later authority record.
The April pipe-repair note is also narrow: it identifies a particular activity and expected closure duration. It does not establish that the overall corridor project ended when that activity ended.
Six fields remain open in this record
The reviewed state notice does not establish:
- actual substantial or final completion date;
- final acceptance;
- final contract amount and changes;
- total days worked;
- measured transportation or drainage outcomes; or
- the final disposition of every lane restriction.
For a trip today, use Louisiana 511 and its closure/construction information, or dial 511. Opening the map is not verification that this particular corridor is open. The official Monroe District directory lists 318-342-0100 for the district; the former district-page link no longer reaches that information. A historical article should not be used as a live closure map.
Source and methodology
Local Service Ledger compared the complete City and DOTD notices again on October 3, 2026, adding the October 1 entry and recalculating the interval. The 511 interface and district directory retain their September 13 review dates; no new route-specific traffic check is claimed. October 3 retrieval does not turn DOTD’s October 1 statement into a field observation. We did not visit the corridor, assess progress, calculate working days or predict completion. Check for the next monthly agency update by November 2, or sooner for travel through the corridor.
