Apple Creek’s water-service page describes two maintenance activities: hydrant flushing and exercising water valves. Both notices mention temporary changes in water appearance. Before attributing a problem at home to either operation, check whether the Village is actually working near the service address.

The page still displays a notice referring to “this week” and Thursday, July 30, without a printed year. That is not a reliable September 2026 schedule. Ask the Water and Sewer Department at 330-698-5462 which notice applies now. Village service page

Flushing and valve work are not the same operation

The Village’s linked hydrant handout describes spring and fall flushing as a way to clear accumulated material and check hydrants. It says crews identify hydrants needing repair. The separate valve notice explains that exercising valves can temporarily discolor water. Neither description establishes the cause of a particular household’s problem. The handout is undated on its printed page; its 2020 upload directory does not make it a current work announcement. Use it for the Village’s explanation of flushing, and use the department for the active schedule.

Report the symptom, not an assumed diagnosis

Have this short report ready when calling:

The service address is ____. The change began at ____. I noticed ____ in the cold water / hot water / both. Pressure is ____. The Village notice I saw was ____, but I have not confirmed that work is active here. What instructions apply to this address, and when should I call again if the problem continues?

This is LSL’s reporting aid, not a Village form. Describe only what you have actually observed; do not run appliances or operate valves merely to fill every blank. A photograph and time can help explain a visible change, but neither proves water quality.

Use maintenance precautions within their stated context

For flushing-related discoloration, the Village handout advises avoiding white laundry and hot-water use until the water clears and describes flushing from a cold-water bathtub faucet. Confirm the applicable instructions with the department if the cause is uncertain or the condition persists. Published flushing precautions

The service page asks residents to call 330-698-5462 about prolonged pressure or color concerns. Do not interpret a general maintenance explanation as an all-clear for an unexplained problem, or use this article as a reason to disregard a current utility advisory. Follow-up contact

LSL checked the service page and read the linked one-page handout on September 20, 2026. This review separates an undated schedule from maintenance guidance and supplies a concise incident report. No water was sampled, work schedule confirmed by phone or household condition diagnosed.
