A residential driveway in Safety Harbor can involve Building, the City Arborist, Engineering, and Public Works. Which records belong in the file depends on whether the work removes a tree, changes a sidewalk or right-of-way, expands paving, or changes drainage.

Describe the scope before choosing forms

Write one neutral scope statement: new driveway, replacement within the existing footprint, widening, new surface treatment, sidewalk crossing, apron work, or work in the public right-of-way. Add a property survey and mark the existing and proposed paved areas. Do not treat a contractor proposal as the City’s classification.

The live permit hub explains Safety Harbor’s building-administration relationship with Pinellas County. Save the current office’s written routing answer because the City procedure names several municipal reviewers even when a County office performs a building function.

These branches come from the City’s residential driveway procedure. They are questions, not a claim that every project requires every attachment.

Create a handoff log

For each reviewer, record the submitted revision, date received, correction request, response, written approval, and the permit or case number it conditions. Then start an inspection section for the pre-pour and final stages named by the procedure. Record an actual result—requested, scheduled, passed, failed, or corrected—rather than “inspection done.”

Do not use a source-dated form to calculate an impervious-area or drainage answer. Preserve the worksheet and the City reviewer’s result. Likewise, a right-of-way approval does not establish that the building permit was issued.

Local Service Ledger compared the current hub and City procedure on August 27, 2026. We did not measure a site, design drainage, calculate impervious area, or receive an approval.
