Vicksburg’s published residential refuse rate is $35 per month for one container. Multiplied by 12, that is $420 a year. A household with the one allowed additional container adds $27.50 per month, producing a $62.50 monthly and $750 annual example.
Residential inputs only
The City’s Refuse Rates page says the residential charge covers twice-weekly pickup. It lists:
- one green container: $35 per month; and
- one additional brown container: $27.50 per month.
The page has separate small-commercial and downtown-commercial rows. We excluded them because this calculation answers a household question.
Three annual calculations

The $330 incremental amount explains the difference between $420 and $750. It is not a separate charge on top of the two-container total.
What the page does not establish
The public page does not state an annual billing option or discount. Our annual figures are multiplication for planning. It also does not, in the rate rows, resolve proration, taxes, replacements, missed pickup, damaged containers, service start/stop timing, or household eligibility.
Confirm current account terms through the City’s Utilities directory. Keep the access date with a saved rate because the monthly amounts can change.
Do not mix customer classes
The page lists $35 for a non-downtown small-commercial first container and $40.15 for downtown commercial containers, with different pickup language and container limits. Those are not inputs to the residential calculation.
Likewise, the City’s statement that it does not serve large commercial/industrial establishments with dumpsters does not describe household service.
Methodology and limitations
Local Service Ledger recorded the two residential monthly rows on August 1, 2026, multiplied each relevant scenario by 12, and checked the totals. We did not access an account, verify service eligibility, or treat the editorial annual figures as City-issued annual bills.
